Angus McBean

Suffolk 1980
Angus McBean was probably one of the the greatest photographers I have ever had the privilege to meet (in my modelling days, I worked with Bailey, Testino, Lichfield, James Wedge and many others). He posed on a Suffolk gate for this picture wearing a specially designed sweater by the Australian designer, Jenny Kee (this photograph was originally commissioned and published by Australian VOGUE). This was the third shot I took, and he must have guessed I was nervous. When I took the fourth frame he started to climb off the gate, saying “In my day we took three shots and one for luck”. He was, of course, quite right.
